A short bio on Doug Parker in the Vancouver New Jazz Society program guide (1958).The text reads:
"Vancouver born Doug Parker has played piano in almost every state south of the border. He travelled with small combos and big name bands like Harry James and Ray Anthony doing recording dates, dance jobs and TV shows from New York to Los Angeles. Returning home in 1955 he soon became the busiest man in town. "Jazz Workshop," "The Pleasant Mr. Parker" and "Arrangers Workshop" are just some of his recent shows. Currently he has the "Big Band Show" on CBC and leads his own orchestra at the Embassy Ballroom."
